The hugely-popular mass participation cycle ride, which first took place in 2015, offers three routes that take in some of the most spectacular parts of the south coast of Cornwall.

Participants in this year’s Eden Classic have been eagerly anticipating the on-road event after the global pandemic meant that last year’s Classic had to be cancelled.

Neil Stark, Eden’s Operations Director, said: “It will be great for us to welcome hundreds of cyclists for the sixth edition of the Eden Classic.

“Cornwall has just enjoyed a wonderfully exciting day with the hosting of the start of the Tour of Britain race.  That amazing event is bound to encourage more people to get out on two wheels.

“Our event is not a race but it is a challenge as it takes you around some of the most beautiful and undulating roads our stunning county has to offer.”

Riders have a choice of three route options, ranging from a short yet challenging ride of 36 miles, to a middle distance of 60 miles, and a long course for the experienced sportive rider of 100 miles.

All routes take in dramatic coastal and country scenery and riders can enjoy top-class refreshment at the Lost Gardens of Heligan feed station as they fuel up for the remainder of their ride.

At the end they are greeted by the sight of the world-famous Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes as they descend into the Eden Arena.

Pre-registered riders are guaranteed to receive a bespoke medal and timing chip. Every rider is also able to enjoy a pre-cycle breakfast, delicious food and refreshments at stations along the route and a well-deserved pasty after the event.

Family and friends are also encouraged to explore Eden and cheer riders over the finish line. Two adults and two children per rider can visit Eden on the day of the Classic and on the Saturday prior to the event.

Those wishing to look the part can also purchase an official Eden Classic jersey from the online Eden Shop.

Entries are open until 23:00 on September 14. On-the-day entries will not be accepted this year.
